Trustees' Corner

May brings not only warmer days and early blooms, but May also offers the opportunity for residents to participate in local governance in the form of Annual Town Meeting and Annual Town Election. The Annual Town Meeting is Monday, May 4 at 7 PM in Norwell Middle School. The Annual Town Election is Saturday, May 16 from 8 AM to 6 PM also at Norwell Middle School. The Norwell Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Candidate’s Night on Tuesday, May 12 from 7-8:30 PM in the North River Room at Town Hall.

Participation in Town Meeting and Town Election is a responsibility for all adult residents. Norwell’s Town Meeting is your opportunity to help determine the course of governance for the next 12 months. It is important to be an informed voter: view minutes of Town Boards on Town Hall website, watch videos of meetings on Norwell Spotlight TV, read print articles, read the Annual Town Report, ask questions of candidates for office and acquaint yourself with the Town Warrant. In this year of celebrating the 250th anniversary of American Independence, BE an active participant in your Norwell.
