2026: A Celebratory Year in 10 Objects

Join the Norwell Historical Society for our 2026 kick-off event! Historian Stephen O’Neill will showcase 10 items that speak to this historic year. Stories about the Revolutionary War, the Jacobs Farmhouse, and King Philip’s War will be told through artifacts in the Society’s collection.
Ages 0-5 are welcome to join Marissa for 30 minutes of stories, participatory songs, and fingerplays that support early literacy. Registration is required. Please register for each day you're interested in attending. No meeting February 16.
Drop by the Children's Studio after school and build with our Legos! Please leave your own Legos at home. Best for children age 4 and up, caregivers must remain in the library. Brick Builders will be on hiatus from February 24-March 24.
Take and Make: Valentine's Windsock

Happy Valentine's Day! This kit contains the instructions and materials to make one Valentine's-themed windsock. All ages. Registration required to secure your kit. You may pick up any time during the week. Any unclaimed kits will be put out for the general public the following week. Thank you to the Norwell Garden Club for this month's take and make craft!
Just in time for Valentine's Day, make a stamped Valentine's canvas to give to a loved one! We'll use acrylic paint and cardboard tubes to stamp our design (so please dress for mess). For children ages 5 and up with caregiver present. Registration is required.
Drop by during vacation week and make friendship bracelets. We will have assorted beads and pipe cleaners available for easy stringing and tying on. Keep them for yourself or share them with friends, family, or loved ones! While supplies last, no registration required. Caregiver must remain in library, young children will require caregiver assistance.
Vacation Week Double Feature

Join us for Freaky Friday (2003) at 10:45am, followed by Freakier Friday (2025) at 12:30pm! Please bring a blanket to sit on, some chairs will be available. Caregivers must remain with children under 8. Light refreshments will be available while supplies last. Both films are rated PG. Registration is appreciated, especially if anyone in your group has a food allergy.
Come meet Skipper, a therapy dog who loves pats and being read to! Register for a 15-minute slot for one-on-one reading time with Skipper and his mom, NHS school psychologist. Please bring a book or select one from the library's collection before your scheduled reading time.
Join Christine from Little Bee Yoga for 45 minutes of beginning yoga for both caregiver and child ages 2-6. Enjoy fun poses, music, stories, breathing exercises, and guided relaxations. Children grade 3 and under must be accompanied by a caregiver. Please bring your own yoga mat. Registration required.

Homework Club

Sit and work on your homework, snacks and water will be provided! Typically this club meets on the first Thursday of each month, but this month we will meet on the second Thursday.
For our next teen taste testing we will be trying red and blue flavored candies and pitting them against one another to see which is better. Will it be red? Will it be blue? We shall see!
