Geology of Norwell and More: Richard William Butts

We are excited to host geologist Richard William Butts for a fun presentation about Norwell’s local geology.

This presentation includes the geology of the North River as it pertains to Stetson Meadows, as well as the mineralogy history of Dedham Granite, the Rhode Island Formation, Ecology, and more.

Drop In: Make a Pet Rock

The Pet Rock was a novelty toy first introduced to the world in 1975, which is the same year the Norwell Public Library opened at 64 South Street. To celebrate, drop by the Children's Studio to make your own pet rock! While supplies last. No registration required. This program is best suited to kids ages 6 and up. Younger children will need caregiver help.

Take and Make: Jack O' Lantern Suncatcher

Halloween is just around the corner! Use the materials in this kit to make a pumpkin suncatcher (jack o'lantern face optional).  All ages.

Registration required to secure your kit. You may pick up any time during the week. Any unclaimed kits will be put out for the general public the following week.

Read to a Dog: Skipper

Come meet Skipper, a therapy dog who loves pats and being read to! Register for a 15-minute slot for one-on-one reading time with Skipper and his mom, NHS school psychologist. Please bring a book or select one from the library's collection before your scheduled reading time.

Yoga for Kids with Little Bee

Join Christine from Little Bee Yoga for 45 minutes of beginning yoga for both caregiver and child ages 2-6. Enjoy fun poses, music, stories, breathing exercises, and guided relaxations. Children grade 3 and under must be accompanied by a caregiver. Please bring your own yoga mat. Registration required.

Calling all teen gamers! Join us for the start of the Video Games Club here at Norwell Public Library. Every month we will select from a group of switch games to play together ranging from Mariokart to Cuphead.
