Tiny Art Show Reception

The Norwell Public Library is excited to present its annual Tiny Art Show! Friends and family of artists of all ages are invited to a reception in the Workshop. This is your chance to get to know the artists, admire their work or even ask them questions about their artistic process. Drop-ins welcome! Light snacks provided.

NHS- The Traveling Art Show

June & July

The Traveling Art Show will showcase 30-40 beautifully framed pieces of art selected as winners from the Fine Arts Festival at NHS.


Winners are students who attend Norwell Public High School. Stop by and see this exhibit

Summer Reading

NPL Plant Swap

Saturday, June 7

1:00 - 3:00pm

The first week of June is National Garden Week, the perfect time for a Plant Swap!

Meet us in the staff parking area where we will have tables set up for the swap.


Participants are invited to leave a plant and take a plant. There will be a table for giveaway plants as well. Be sure to check out our Seed Library when you stop by!

Summer Reading Kickoff! (All ages)

Join us to kick off our 2025 Summer Reading Program! Get information about our children's, teen, and adult summer  reading programs and receive a ticket for a Kona Ice in the staff parking lot! Browse the Friends of the Library pop up book sale, try a yard game outside, and visit with Skipper the therapy dog!

Miss Ari's Family Tree Sing-A-Long show turns singing & dancing into learning & play! With live music featuring ukulele and guitar, Ari covers the classic nursery rhymes, colors and the alphabet. For children of all ages and their caregivers. Registration is required and will open 2 weeks prior to the event.

Ed the Wizard: Reading is Magic!

Join Ed the Wizard for a lively interactive family friendly magic performance full of comedy and suspense that highlights the importance of reading and how Ed taught himself to be a wizard! All ages, children must be accompanied by a caregiver. Registration is required.

Join us for a virtual chat with YA and Adult Author Edward Underhill! 


Transgender YA and now Adult author Edward Underhill will be joining the Boyden Library, Foxborough (in collaboration with a multitude of MA & NH libraries) as part of the "Together With Pride" initiative to discuss his two newest books; "The In Between Bookstore" (Adult debut released in January 2025) and "In Case You Read This" (YA released in May 2025) with Boyden's Teen Librarian Jennifir Huston.


This will be an interview conducted over zoom and special thanks goes to Ashland Public Library for providing Zoom access to a multitude of MA & NH Libraries.

Jigsaw Puzzle Competition

Can your team complete a jigsaw puzzle faster than your friends and neighbors? Each team will receive the same 500 piece puzzle provided by the library. The team that finishes first or completes the most before time is called wins!

Sisters in Crime New England: Mystery Making Panel

Tuesday, June 17

Join the Norwell Library for a special program featuring three talented local mystery writers from the Sisters in Crime Panel. In this interactive workshop, the authors will brainstorm on their feet to create a brand new mystery using suggestions provided by the audience. Fun, fast-paced, and fascinating, this improv game offers insight into mystery writers’ minds and the conventions of the genre. The panelists will be Louisa Clerici, Katherine Fast and Nicole Asselin.

Gentle Yoga Flow and Stretch

This is a Yang style class which focuses more on the larger muscle groups with slower, thoughtful and accessible movements, mostly on the ground, combined with gentle stretching. The class also includes breathwork and meditation to help center and calm the mind to to facilitate the connection of the mind, breath, body, and spirit.


All levels are welcome, with a focus on beginners and advanced beginners.

NPL Evening Book Group: Leadership: In Turbulent Times by Doris Kearns Goodwin

This month we will be reading Leadership: In Turbulent Times by Doris Kearns Goodwin.

In Leadership, Goodwin draws upon the four presidents she has studied most closely—Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, Franklin D. Roosevelt, and Lyndon B. Johnson (in civil rights)—to show how they recognized leadership qualities within themselves and were recognized as leaders by others. By looking back to their first entries into public life, we encounter them at a time when their paths were filled with confusion, fear, and hope.
