VIRTUAL: Inclusive & Diverse Romance Book Recommendations with Read My Lips Boston Wednesday, June 18 at 6:00 pm We are super excited to be partnering with the owners (and twin sisters) behind Read My Lips Boston, Massachusetts’ diverse romance pop-up bookshop, for this special series! You’ll find Lily and Hannah Barrett quarterly on Zoom for 30 minutes of romance book recommendations celebrating authors and main characters who identify as BIPOC, queer, disabled, big-bodied, and members of other underrepresented groups in the genre. In June, our theme is "Hot Queer Summer,” focusing on queer romance novels set on tropical beach islands, on summer vacation, and more. VIRTUAL: Gay Pride - More than a Parade Monday, June 30 at 7:00 pm June is Pride Month, which honors the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in Manhattan, a turning point for the Gay Liberation Movement in the United States. What started as an angry mob's violent reaction to a police raid in 1969 ignited the gay rights movement and has over time grown to become a joyous annual celebration.
