It is time! The Friends of the Falmouth Public Library will be running their Annual Summer Book Sale from Thursday, June 29th through Monday, July 3rd on the library lawn of the Main Library at 300 Main Street. Book Sale Hours: Thursday, June 29th from 10am-4pm Friday, June 30th from 10am-4pm Saturday, July 1st from 10am-4pm Sunday, July 2nd from 10am-4pm (1/2 price day for all books) Monday, July 3rd from 10am-12pm (10 books for $2.00) In preparation for the annual book sale, the Friends have stopped accepting donations and they will resume accepting donations after the book sale on July 11th. Donations are by appointment only. Please call the Friends at 508-457-2555 x2918 during library hours to schedule an appointment.

Summer Reading Sign-Ups begins at the Branches on Monday, July 3rd! Stop by the East Falmouth Branch from 9am-5pm and the North Falmouth Branch from 2pm-7pm to sign up for our Summer Reading Program. This years theme is Find Your Voice!

The Falmouth Public Library and its Branches will be closed on Tuesday, July 4th in observance of Independence Day.

Library Lawn Games are coming to the Branches! For the month of July, stop by the East Falmouth Branch on Wednesdays from 9am-1pm and the North Falmouth Branch on Wednesday from 10am-2pm to play some of our outdoor games (weather permitting)! Library Lawn Games are fun for all ages and everyone is welcome to come and play!

Popcorn! A Circus Variety Show Join us on the library lawn Thursday, June 29th from 3pm-4pm for Popcorn! A Circus Variety Show! No registration required, just stop on by! Mixing circus arts and comedy, Popcorn! is a family friendly, feel-good performance that showcases nostalgic toys, buttery smooth skills, and a microwave. Popcorn! is put on by Peter The Support Clown who inspires kids and adults alike to spend more time in the present, learn skill toys, and challenge themselves! In a world where many use video games and screen technology every day, Popcorn! reminds us how to be awesome in everyday life.

Dream Tale Puppets Presents: Alice, or The Red King's Dream Dream Tale Puppets invite you to a world of fantasy, make-believe, and play in their newest production, Alice, or the Red King’s Dream on Thursday, July 6th from 11am-12pm in the Hermann room. This show is perfect for ages 5 and up and no registration is required. "As two vagabond-like characters banter and tease each other, they find and bring to life a puppet of a little girl. They call her Alice and set her on a journey to find her lost kitten. Alice enters a world of puzzles inhabited by talking flowers and a collection of characters from Lewis Carroll’s stories." This program is supported by a grant from the Falmouth Cultural Council, a local agency, which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.

Kanopy Movie Club - World Cinema Our third World Cinema movie discussion will be on Thursday, June 29th at 3pm in the Trustees room. We will be discussing the Iranian film Hit the Road (2021) directed by Panah Panahi. Watch this movie prior to the meeting on Kanopy by clicking on this link: Registration is required. "Follows a family of four – two middle-aged parents and their sons, one a taciturn adult, the other an ebullient six-year-old – as they drive across the Iranian countryside. Over the course of the trip, they bond over memories of the past, grapple with fears of the unknown, and fuss over their sick dog." This movie is rated NR and is for mature audiences only.

Falmouth Together Memory Cafe Join us at the East Falmouth Library Branch on Monday, July 3rd from 1pm-2pm for the Falmouth Together Memory Cafe! The Falmouth Together Memory Cafe is a welcoming place for people living with memory concerns and their families or care companions. With guest artists, refreshments and coffee, the Falmouth Together Memory Cafe offers an opportunity to meet other people in the community who are experiencing similar concerns with memory issues.
