Summer Movie Schedule The Falmouth Village Association will be showing double feature movies on the library lawn every Wednesday night at dusk (6pm-10pm) starting July 19th and ending August 16st! BYO blankets and chairs and join us on the library lawn to enjoy some outdoor family fun with Movies Under the Stars. These movies are weather dependent and are free to the public. George Gritzbach Band Mark your calendars! The library is excited to welcome Falmouth’s longtime favorite roots and blues legend, George Gritzbach and his band for a live, outdoor performance on the library lawn on Tuesday evening, July 25th, from 6pm-8pm, weather permitting. No registration needed, just bring your own chair or blanket! George is known for his innovative original songs. The Boston Globe called him a “sizzling hot, no-holds barred electric bluesman” and “one of the finest guitar players in America.” The band now includes a seasoned rhythm section including Scott Lariviere on bass and backing vocals, Johnny Menezes on keyboards and Christian McCarthy on drums, percussion and backing vocals, and is rounded out by Peter Murray on the sax! This concert is sponsored by the Board of Library Trustees.

Rainforest Reptiles Rainforest Reptiles will be at the East Falmouth Branch on Monday, July 10th from 12pm-1pm. In each show, our animals and reptiles are the stars! Come learn about our live reptiles, artifacts, and their incredible stories. All audience members have the chance to be interactive with some of our reptile and animal friends by either holding or just touching them. This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Falmouth Public Library.

Tie-dye tee shirts Bring a tee shirt or any other item you would like to tie dye to the North Falmouth Branch on Tuesday, July 11th between 10:30am-12pm! This program will take place outside and may be cancelled in the event of inclement weather. This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Falmouth Public Library.

Someone’s In the Kitchen with Puppets, Paul & Mary This is a musical and interactive puppet variety show sure to entertain children and adults from 2-100 years old. Songs, stories, and audience participation will keep you and your littles entertained through the entire show. This program is supported by a grant from the Falmouth Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.

CAP Therapy Dogs Who among us couldn't use a little time with a certified therapy dog? Join us in the Children's room on Thursday, July 13th from 11am-12pm for Tales to Tails: Reading to Therapy Dogs with the Companion Animal Project (CAP). Reading to therapy dogs helps relieve stress, build confidence, and allows kids to practice their early literacy skills. For this program, all are welcome including seniors and those who would benefit from a little time spent with a calm and supportive four-legged friend! Let us know you are coming! Registration is recommended but not required as space is limited.

Falmouth Senior Center Book Club - Horse Join us on Tuesday, July 11th at 1pm at the Senior Center (780 Main Street) as we discuss this month's selection Horse: A Novel by Geraldine Brooks! Copies of the book can be picked up at the book club meetings at the Senior Center or at the Falmouth Public Library's reference desk. No registration is required. "A scientist from Australia and a Nigerian-American art historian become connected by their shared interest in a 19th century race horse, one studying its remains, the other uncovering the history of the Black horsemen who were critical to its success."
