From June 26th through August 28th, stop by the library lawn on Mondays from 12pm-4pm (weather permitting) to play some of our outdoor games! We'll have Cornhole, Giant Checkers, Giant Dominoes, Giant 4-In-A-Row, Giant Jenga, Kan Jam, and Ladder Toss for you to enjoy in the summer sun! Library Lawn Games are fun for all ages and everyone is welcome to come and play!

Visit the library for your last chance to try our "summer secrets" scavenger hunt/riddle game that ends on July 1st! The adventure starts in the Young Adult Room but is for all ages. Follow the clues to learn about the library and get some book recommendations, and if you turn in the completed sheet you're entered to win a prize! Warning - it's not super easy - plan to spend a little time on it!

Story Walk: A Flag for Juneteenth The library is happy to present the Storywalk® A Flag for Juneteenth by Kim Taylor on the library lawn from June 14th through June 24th! Enjoy walking the sidewalk path along the library while reading this story about Huldah and her community of African Americans in Texas creating a flag to celebrate their freedom.

Popcorn! A Circus Variety Show Join us on the library lawn Thursday, June 29th from 3pm-4pm for Popcorn! A Circus Variety Show! No registration required, just stop on by! Mixing circus arts and comedy, Popcorn! is a family friendly, feel-good performance that showcases nostalgic toys, buttery smooth skills, and a microwave. Popcorn! is put on by Peter The Support Clown who inspires kids and adults alike to spend more time in the present, learn skill toys, and challenge themselves! In a world where many use video games and screen technology every day, Popcorn! reminds us how to be awesome in everyday life.

Poetry Reading: Baltic Amber in a Chest Join poet Clarissa Jakobson on Thursday, June 22nd from 2pm-3pm in the Hermann room as she reads from and discusses her 2023 book, Baltic Amber in a Chest, about her Lithuanian family's history in World War II. Clarissa comes to us fresh from a residency in Provincetown and will have copies of her book available. The event is free and is open to everyone. Registration is required.

Fact & Fiction Book Discussion: Afterlives Join the Fact & Fiction Book Discussion on Wednesday, June 28th from 10am-11am at the East Falmouth Branch to share your thoughts on Afterlives by Abdulrazak Gurnah! This discussion group is currently drop in so no registration is needed. Copies of the book can be picked up at the branch libraries one month prior to the meeting. "A young man returns home years after being kidnapped to find his parents gone and his sister basically a slave in a multi-generational saga set during the colonization of east Africa that won the 2021 Nobel Prize in Literature."

Kanopy Movie Club - World Cinema Our third World Cinema movie discussion will be on Thursday, June 29th at 3pm in the Bay room. We will be discussing the Iranian film Hit the Road (2021) directed by Panah Panahi. Watch this movie prior to the meeting on Kanopy by clicking on this link: Registration is required. "Follows a family of four – two middle-aged parents and their sons, one a taciturn adult, the other an ebullient six-year-old – as they drive across the Iranian countryside. Over the course of the trip, they bond over memories of the past, grapple with fears of the unknown, and fuss over their sick dog." This movie is rated NR and is for mature audiences only.
