| Temporary Closure of Ridgecrest Branch Library for Critical Maintenance and Upgrades From October 1, 2024 - October 7, 2024. |
Ridgecrest, CA - The Ridgecrest Branch Library, located at 131 East Las Flores Avenue will be temporarily closed from Tuesday, October 1, 2024, through Monday, October 7, 2024, to complete essential life-safety and critical maintenance improvements. The library is scheduled to reopen on Tuesday, October 8, 2024.
The Budget Act of 2021, Senate Bill 129, allocated $439 million in one-time funds to the California State Library to address life-safety and critical maintenance needs of public library facilities throughout California. The Building Forward Library Infrastructure grant provides funding for life-safety and critical maintenance improvements. The Ridgecrest Branch Library was awarded $1,058,522 from the grant to address important safety, security, and infrastructure needs.
These improvements are vital to ensuring the facility meets modern safety standards and can continue to serve the community effectively. The book drop will remain open and available for library material drop-offs for Ridgecrest area residents throughout the closure. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate the community's understanding and patience during this time.
