The County of Kern Hosts Touch-A-Truck:

Celebrating Curiosity, Community, and Big Machines

Bakersfield, CA — The County of Kern invites families to join us for Touch-A-Truck, a free, hands-on celebration of curiosity, community, and big machines on Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 10 AM to 1 PM at Beale Memorial Library.

This beloved annual event gives children the chance to climb aboard, explore, and interact with the impressive vehicles that keep our community moving. From a garbage truck and oil tanker to a tow truck and more, kids can see their favorite big machines up close, turn on lights and sirens, and meet the everyday heroes who operate them.

Touch-A-Truck brings together dozens of community partners and county departments, including the Kern County Library, County Administrative Office, General Services, and Public Health Department, to showcase the people and equipment that build, protect, and serve Kern County.

Inside the library, families can continue the fun with interactive, hands-on activities that spark imagination and inspire learning. Local food trucks will also be on-site, offering a delicious variety of treats to enjoy throughout the day.

A special Quiet Time will take place from 9:30 AM to 10 AM for families with children who prefer a calmer environment before the main event begins.

Join us for a day of discovery, excitement, and community pride at Touch-A-Truck 2025 — where kids can dream big, explore boldly, and celebrate the machines that keep Kern County rolling!
