| Temporary Closure of Lamont Branch Library
for Vital Infrastructure Improvements Starting Thursday February 1, 2024, Through Sunday June 2, 2024. |
Lamont, California – The Lamont Branch Library will be closed from Thursday February 1 to Sunday June 2, 2024, for essential improvements funded by the Building Forward Library Infrastructure Grant from the California State Library. This closure is essential to complete life-safety and critical maintenance improvements funded through the Building Forward Library Infrastructure Grant administered by the California State Library.
Thanks to the Budget Act of 2021, Senate Bill 129, The Building Forward Library Infrastructure Grant awarded Lamont Branch Library $587,197 for safety upgrades and infrastructure improvements. During the closure, the library will undergo upgrades specifically to address life-safety and critical maintenance needs of the Lamont Branch Library. This closure gives us time to make these changes and create a more inviting space for the community.
We appreciate your understanding and look forward to reopening this summer with a refreshed and improved library experience for everyone.
The Library Department encourages Lamont Branch patrons to explore the Arvin Branch Library for their services during the temporary closure, which will be opening five days a week starting the last week of February.
