Random Acts of Kindness Week

Random Acts of Kindness week is an annual tradition of celebrating kindness from February 14th to 20th!  This year’s theme is Explore the Good and Make Kindness the Norm.  For ideas on activities for the week, we encourage you to visit: https://www.randomactsofkindness.org/#

Some of our favorite ideas from them!
  • Love Note- Find your favorite pen and two nice pieces of paper. Write a letter to someone who has changed your life for the better. Tell them how they have helped you. Then send it.  Next, write a letter to yourself. Describe all your strengths, skills, values, behaviors and actions that have gotten you to where you are. Seal it in an envelope and put it somewhere that you’ll find later when you really need to hear those words.
  • Create Bookmarks - A simple reminder to be kind is sometimes all it takes to incite a kind act. Be creative with it! Cut cardstock into strips and decorate to your heart’s content with drawings, designs or your favorite quote.
  • Random Acts of Kindness- Look around your neighborhood. How can you infuse a little kindness while still social distancing? Think about simple ideas- chalk messages, hearts on mailboxes, Uplifting notes on doorsteps.
  • Foster A Pet Up For Adoption- If you’re not prepared to make the leap of adopting a pet, give fostering a try! There are so many animals waiting to be placed, and your kindness can help a lot with their transition.
Some of Our Favorite Kindness Quotes:
  • “THE WORLD IS FULL OF KIND PEOPLE... IF YOU CAN'T FIND ONE, BE ONE”- Unknown
  • “THE BEST AND MOST BEAUTIFUL THINGS IN THE WORLD CANNOT BE SEEN OR EVEN TOUCHED - THEY MUST BE FELT WITH THE HEART.” - Helen Keller
  • “WHAT WISDOM CAN YOU FIND THAT IS GREATER THAN KINDNESS?”- Jean Jacques Rousseau
