Magazine Drive Month 
Magazines remain a favourite at the Nelson Public Library, with readers enjoying a diverse collection of titles covering everything from news and gardening to fashion and finance. March is Magazine Drive Month, inviting individuals, organizations, and businesses to support the magazine collection through donations that help keep it current and accessible for everyone. Our mobile library will be at Slocan Park Community Hall the last Tuesday of every month until the end of May. Stop by to peruse books or get a library card!

A weekly creative after-school hangout. Quick, fun craft projects for kids aged 5-13. Every week is a bit different. We’ve got the supplies – all you need to bring is your imagination!

Wednesday 3:30 – 4:30 pm | Drop-in Reading Buddies
For school-aged kids who would like to practice reading with a teen volunteer. Drop by on Wednesday afternoons! (Cancelled March 18 and 25 for Spring Break!)

Drop by the library on Thursday mornings to share some favourite songs, rhymes and stories! Kids of all ages welcome for this happy half hour.

Tween Karaoke Party
If you’re between 10 and 14 and love singing your favourite songs, this monthly karaoke party is for you! Bring yourself, your voice, and your ears, and get ready to try out our karaoke machine.

Spring Break Specials for Teens!
 
Spring Break Fibre Lab
In this three-session workshop with West Kootenay Fibreshed, teens will learn to reclaim fibre by unraveling thrifted wool sweaters and preparing the yarn for reuse. Participants will learn basic knitting or crochet skills, and create a small finished project.
