Have Moo-velous Fun

During the month of March, the children's area is all about MOO! Enjoy bovine-themed crafts, books, movies and more. Search for costumed inflatable cows, create cow-themed crafts in the Storytime room, and have all-around moo-velous fun!

Here are a few titles to kick off your Month of MOO:

Start on the Road to Reading

The road to reading starts at the library! Our expanded phonics collection now includes a large number of decodable books to support new and striving readers. Decodable or sound aloud books allow children to practice phonics skills, helping them on the road from word recognition and comprehension to skilled reading.

Included in the collection are Half Pint Kid Readers, Dog on a Log Books, Whole Phonics Readers, and additional Bob Book titles. These books can be found in the Early Reader bins highlighted with Road to Reading signage. Search the catalog using the term "road to decode" to see the decodable books collection.

Thanks to Teach My Kid to Read for support in developing this collection for public libraries. Their website has additional resources, including links to reading and intervention programs and organizations.
