Your student does not need a physical library card to check out materials or access library services.
The school-issued student ID number is their FCPL library card number. The default PIN is currently set to the first four digits of the student's birthday (mmdd),but we encourage you or your student to change the PIN as soon as possible for security purposes.
Please note, FCS student library card account PINs are restored to default once a year. Any PINs that were changed prior to January 31, 2022 have been restored to the default PIN and will need to be changed to the PIN of your choosing.
Enter the six-digit FCS student ID in the "Username or Barcode" field.
Enter the default PIN in the "PIN" field and click the "Log In" button.
Click to expand the "Change Logon" options.
Click the "Change PIN" box and enter the default PIN, then the new PIN of your choosing (twice). New PINs must be numbers only and can be 4 to 16 digits in length.
If you do not know the default PIN, go to the My Account tab and click the "Forgot your PIN?" link to have a password reset link sent to the email address(es) we have on file.
Information on loan periods, late fees, placing holds, and managing your account are available on the Getting Started section of the Library's website.
If your student already has a physical library card, it remains valid and can still be used, if you prefer.
How to Check Out Books and eLibrary Materials
Visit the FCPL website to check out eBooks, eMagazines, eAudiobooks, online educational videos, or other eLibrary materials using your student ID and PIN.
Visit any of FCPL's four branches (addresses are listed in the "Find Your Library" section below) or our Bookmobile to check out books, CDs, DVDs, or other physical materials using the student ID number and PIN at the Ask Us desk or at the self-checkout stations.
Student cardholders may also place materials on hold for express pickup at their preferred FCPL branch.
Please be advised that parents and guardians are responsible for monitoring student library card accounts to determine suitability of materials for student use.
How to Return Materials
Books and other physical materials may be checked out from any FCPL location and returned to any FCPL location.
As the parent or guardian of a student library cardholder, please understand that you are responsible for:
Returning all materials borrowed with your child's library card,
Paying late fees and penalties for loss or damage to materials.
