April 2025 News @ FCPL |
|
|
Even though books are at the very heart of everything we do at Forsyth County Public Library (FCPL), books are really just the beginning.
Library books are your launching pad for whatever it is you are trying to achieve: knowledge, escapism, entertainment, or opportunity. Ultimately, books are also your key to unlocking the door to your community.
In other words: come for the books, but stay for the chess game, art class, book club discussion, or cozy reading chairs.
Your library is one of the only places in your community where there is no obligation or pressure to buy anything. It is the quintessential "third place," a vibrant community hub where you can just relax, explore, and be.
Want to know more about how your library is making an impact on your community? Don't miss our newly released 2024 Annual Report. The smiling faces say it all, but the numbers will blow you away.
Read on for some exciting news over ten years in the making, plus resources and events you won't want to miss this month @ FCPL.

Denmark Library is NOW OPEN!
We are thrilled to announce that the Denmark Library is finally open!
After passing our final inspection and receiving our Certificate of Occupancy late in the day on Tuesday, we mobilized to open the Denmark Library doors on Thursday, March 27 at 9:00 a.m., and no—you didn't miss a ribbon cutting.
Our first priority was to get this building open to the public. Now that we've accomplished that, we can set our sights on planning a proper dedication ceremony and celebration for later this spring. Stay tuned for more details as they unfold.
In the meantime, please do visit the Denmark Library when you get the chance to take advantage of all the services and features unique to this new building including: 49,000 brand new books and other items!

| RECOMMENDED READS
|
 |
Looking for a book recommendation? Check out the STAFF PICKS display at each of our five libraries! Our librarians love to read and it brings us so much joy to share our reading recommendations with you.
The photo above is the STAFF PICKS display at Denmark Library. Each of the librarians at Denmark have designed their own unique bookmark to indicate their recommended reads. It's their hope that patrons who enjoy their recommendations will return to the display looking for that librarian's additional recommendations. (Please don't disappoint them.) |
