We don't mean to burst your bubble, but all good things must come to an end, including our 2024 Summer Reading Challenge, Adventure Begins at Your Library.
But before we take down all our amazing summer decorations and put the prize carts away, there's something we want you to know...
Our 2024 summer reading program was a record-breaking success!
Summer Reading is always our biggest program of the year, but this year we had more participants than ever: 8,010!
And get this: those 8,010 summer reading participants logged a total of 7,426,653 minutes of reading and 167,211 books. Take that, summer learning loss!
As Forsyth County students head back to school today, we want to thank all the students, parents, educators, community leaders, and sponsors who participated in and supported Summer Reading at Forsyth County Public Library (FCPL).
We can't wait to do it all again in 2025!
Keep reading for additional August library news, events, and resources that are positively effervescent!
Sincerely,
Leslie Marinelli FCPL Communications Manager

It was exactly one year ago this week that we broke ground on the Denmark Library, so getting to the point of the project where we can finally fly our American flag feels like a very special milestone for us!
On the inside of the building, teams have been working hard to complete the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems so insulation and drywall can be completed. Hardscape work has begun around the perimeter of the building including the addition of concrete and pavers for patio areas at the front and back entrances, steps to the amphitheater, and the concrete amphitheater seating.

Denmark Library was made possible in large part due to funding from SPLOST (Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax) VIII, a 1% sales and use tax. A ninth SPLOST referendum will be voted on for continuation by County voters in November 2024.
