April Happenings @ FCPL

Spring has officially sprung, and here at Forsyth County Public Library (FCPL), we are still buzzing from an incredible month of events and milestones. Denmark Library opened one year ago on March 27, and Hampton Park Library celebrated its "Sweet Sixteen" on March 15. It has been a joy to look back on how much these branches have grown and served you over the years.

Speaking of highlights, our 13th Forsyth Reads Together event with author Liz Moore was a rousing success! It was wonderful to see so many of you there sharing in the love of literature. If you haven’t seen the photos yet, head over to our Facebook page to check them out. We’ve been touched by your kind words, including comments like, “It was an incredible event! Thank you so much!” and “Forsyth County should be proud of your diligent work to benefit our community!” We truly are proud to serve this community, and your support makes these events possible.

We’re keeping that momentum going through April with plenty of news and activities to keep you busy. Whether you’re stopping by to pick up a book from our new 24/7 hold lockers or bringing the family out for some Spring Break fun, we can’t wait to see you at the library this month!

Warmly,

Leslie Marinelli

Your Library, Your Schedule:

New 24/7 Hold Lockers Now Open at Post Road Library

We are thrilled to announce that Library Hold Lockers are now available at the Post Road Library! Designed to fit your busy lifestyle, these secure lockers allow you the option to pick up your reserved library materials anytime—day or night.

How it works:

  1. Place a Hold: When browsing our catalog, simply select "Library Hold Lockers" as your pickup location.

  2. Get Notified: Once your items are ready, you’ll receive a notification via your preferred method.

  3. Pick Up Anytime: Head to the lockers located outside the Post Road Library. Scan your library card or manually enter your barcode number, enter your PIN, and your specific locker door will pop open!

As with any of our regular hold shelves inside our branches, items in the hold lockers are held for seven days, giving you plenty of time to stop by whenever it's convenient for you.

Using these hold lockers is completely optional. We still love seeing you inside the library! We’re simply adding an extra layer of convenience for our on-the-go patrons who prefer a quick, independent, self-service experience 24/7.

Funding for this project was provided in part by the Governor’s Office of Planning and Budget using American Rescue Plan Act funds.
