Tiny Art Exhibition
Submissions accepted: July 1st - August 1st Art on display: August 5th - August 30th Participate in our second annual Tiny Art Exhibition! Artists ages 18 and older are invited to submit their miniature masterpieces to be displayed at the Agawam Public Library. What qualifies as tiny art? Roughly anything that can fit in the palm of your hand! Fiber art, paintings, mini sculptures, you name it. As long as it's tiny, it's perfect for our exhibition! Each person may submit up to five pieces of tiny art. Not sure what to make? Check out our Tiny Art Adult Take & Makes, available at the Information Desk beginning July 1st! Please bring your submissions to the Agawam Library Information Desk.

Tiny Art Adult Take & Make
Available beginning Monday, July 1st Agawam Library Information Desk Find adventure through art! This free kit includes everything you'll need to create your own miniature masterpiece, including a 3"x3" canvas and easel, a paint brush, acrylic paint in black, white, yellow, blue, and red, a color mixing guide, and images and prompts to help get you inspired! 1 kit per person. These kits are for patrons ages 18 and older. Return your completed masterpiece to the Information Desk to have it displayed in our second annual Tiny Art Exhibition! Sponsored by the Agawam Center Library Association.

Chess Club
Wednesdays at 7PM - 8:30PM Main Floor Study Area Chess enthusiats and beginners alike are invited to join Agawam Library's Chess Club! This group meets every Wednesday evening at the library and is open to players of all ages and experience levels. We provide multiple tables and chess sets as well as instruction, strategies, and tactics for new players. Feel free to bring your own chess set! This is a drop in group and no registration is necessary.

Adult Board Game Night
Wednesday, July 10th at 6:30PM
Judith Clini Community Room Celebrate the joys of a good old game night with board games and snacks! We'll have games on hand like Settlers of Catan, Ticket to Ride, Munchkin, and more - but feel free to bring your own! There will be multiple tables for multiple games, so bring a friend or meet some like-minded gamers at the event. Light refreshments like cookies, cupcakes, and juices will be available. Do you have board game recommendations you'd like to share? Feel free to let us know via whichever channel works best for you! This is a drop-in event for patrons ages 18 and older.

The History of Riverside with David Cecchi
Thursday, July 11th at 6:30PM Judith Clini Community Room From its earliest days as a picnic grove to its evolution into Six Flags, Riverside plays an important role in the history of Agawam. Agawam’s own David Cecchi, author of Images of America: Riverside Park, will discuss how the adventure began!

DIY Sock Gnome Adult Take & Make
Available beginning Monday, July 15th Agawam Library Information Desk The gnomes are back! Stop by the Information Desk beginning July 15th to pick up one of our Sock Gnome Take & Makes, which include most of the materials needed to create a cute decorative gnome out of socks, rice, and yarn! Adventure Tea & Trivia
Tuesday, July 16th at 6:30PM Wednesday, July 17th at 2:30PM Judith Clini Community Room Ready to have your wits challenged? Join us for tasty tea and a couple rounds of Jeopardy and pub-style trivia, with questions themed around “Adventure Begins At Your Library”! Come by yourself or with a team; prizes will be awarded to the winning players. We have two sessions scheduled for this month with different questions for each session, so join us for one or both for double the fun! These programs are for patrons ages 18 and older.

Library Tech Class: Libby - Beyond the Basics
Wednesday, July 17th at 6:30PM Tuesday, July 23rd at 10AM Judith Clini Community Room If you've absolutely fallen in love with our eBook/audiobook app Libby, stop by and learn how to use it like a pro! In this class, we will assume everyone is familiar with the basics of using Libby, and we will demonstrate advanced searching and sorting techniques. We'll show you how to create lists of your favorite books, and how to find books from other libraries. Bringing your favorite Libby device is recommended, and knowing your library login information is required. These are drop-in programs and no registration is required!

Not All Who Wander Are Lost: Letterboxing 101 Thursday, July 18th at 6:30PM Judith Clini Community Room Imagine a hobby that combines the art of making rubber stamps, the challenge of hiding a secret treasure, and the adventure of an afternoon quest and you have letterboxing! In this workshop, instructor Sarah Hodge-Wetherbe will give a brief history of the hobby, how modern letterboxing works, and tips for the trail. Participants will then get basic training on how to carve their stamps to use when they set out on their letterboxing journey!

Museum Heist Escape Room Tuesday, July 30th at 2PM, 5:30PM, or 7PM Peirce Conference Room Try out a different kind of adventure with a museum heist-themed escape room! Players will take on the roles of art thieves tasked with stealing a famous painting. Solve puzzles, break codes, and get the painting before time runs out! We have three different time slots that participants may register for. Sign up with a group during your preferred time slot or join on your own to make some new friends! Please register for only one time slot. This program is for patrons ages 18 and older.
