Adult Board Game Night
Wednesday, September 4th at 6:30PM
Judith Clini Community Room Celebrate the joys of a good old game night with board games and snacks! We'll have games on hand like Settlers of Catan, Ticket to Ride, Munchkin, and more - but feel free to bring your own! There will be multiple tables for multiple games, so bring a friend or meet some like-minded gamers at the event. Light refreshments like cookies, cupcakes, and juices will be available. Do you have board game recommendations you'd like to share? Feel free to let us know via whichever channel works best for you! This is a drop-in event for patrons ages 18 and older.

Chess Club
Wednesdays at 7PM - 8:30PM Main Floor Study Area Chess enthusiasts and beginners alike are invited to join Agawam Library's Chess Club! This group meets every Wednesday evening at the library and is open to players of all ages and experience levels. We provide multiple tables and chess sets as well as instruction, strategies, and tactics for new players. Feel free to bring your own chess set! This is a drop-in group and no registration is necessary.

Adult Take & Make: Geometric String Art
Available beginning Monday, September 9th Agawam Library Information Desk Create a piece of eye-catching geometric string art! Each kit contains a piece of round cork, black acrylic paint, a paintbrush, white embroidery floss, small nails, 5 geometric animal templates (turtle, whale, lion, fox, and bear), and step-by-step instructions! These kits are for patrons ages 18 and older and are available while supplies last. 1 kit per person, please! Sponsored by the Agawam Center Library Association.

In-Person Author Talk with Albert Ruggiero
Thursday, September 12th at 6PM Judith Clini Community Room When his beloved wife, Carol passed, Albert Ruggiero felt her writing deserved a bigger audience so he published a collection of her work in Pearls from Carol. As Albert explains it, Carol enjoyed taking a serious topic and turning it on its head with a surprising ending. Albert took his love for his wife and turned it into a passion project to share her stories with the world. Join us to hear about Carol’s life and her short, funny, and thought provoking stories, poems, and essays.

If you're interested in finding items you're looking for or placing holds on the items you want, be sure to sign up for this class! We'll cover regular searches for authors and titles, as well as how to put items on hold and add item to customized lists. We'll look at how to navigate around the online catalog, and how to browse our collections that we've picked out just for you! Feel free to bring along any device you plan on accessing the device through to follow along. We'll also provide a brief overview of the CW MARS app. It will be helpful to know your CW MARS login information in advance.

The Agawam Library Writers Group is hosted by award-winning author Katherine Anderson. This in-person workshop is open to writers of all levels and genres. There will be opportunities for peer and host feedback, learning the basics of self-publishing, finding opportunities for submission to magazines, literary journals, and presses, assembling a portfolio, and the basics of a query package for submissions and publications.
