Calling all artists! The Thousand Oaks Library is accepting applications for LibCon Artist Alley 2026! Looking for a fun way to give back this summer? We’re seeking enthusiastic, friendly teens to help make the Summer Reading Club (SRC) a huge success. With flexible shifts throughout the summer, it’s a great opportunity to support your library and community while building customer service and teamwork skills. Apply as soon as possible! For ages 14-17 (Grades 9-12 in the 2026-27 school year).

Writers ages 18+ are invited to submit original short stories (1,000–1,200 words) inspired by the theme “Plant a Seed” as part of our Summer Reading Club.
• Submission deadline: Sunday, June 28
• Submit in person at either library or email info@tolibrary.org with subject line “Story Slam”
• Selected readers will be notified by Friday, July 3
Eight stories will be selected for a live reading. The audience will vote for the winning story, which will receive a prize.
If you have books to donate, please drop off your donations at either the Thousand Oaks Library or Newbury Park Library during open hours. The Friends are seeking donations of good condition paperbacks and recent nonfiction releases. Proceeds from the book sale allow the Friends to sponsor library collections and programs.
