New to Meditation series Sat, May 6, 13, 27, 10:30am Durham Branch If you can breathe, you can meditate. As with so many of our volunteer workshop leaders, Alison comes to us with impressive credentials: over 10 years' experience and instruction in mindfulness/calm-abiding and insight meditation techniques, four years as Program Director of a Contemplative Studies Program and studies with some of the world's most respected practitioners. Alison will explain, demonstrate, guide and accompany beginners in developing their meditation practice. Sessions continue in May, starting at 10:30am (see dates above). Pre-registration is required adultprograms@westgreylibrary.com or 519.369.2107 or at the Durham front desk. Wear comfortable clothes. No charge. Come to any session.

Foraging Walk Sat, May 13, 1pm Misty and Bryce are homesteaders who live off-grid on a small experimental farm called The Territory of Ultima Thule. Chefs and caterers by training, they produce as much of their own food as possible on the farm, practice Permaculture, and share the benefits of their experimentation, through their Permaculture Institute. In this session, they share one of their favourite foraging areas in West Grey. This session is off-site. No charge, but pre-registration required at adultprograms@westgreylibrary.com. Information on location will be shared upon registration. Be prepared for a comfortable walk.

Herb of the Month Club Marjoram available starting May 2nd to club members Welcome to our new Herb of the Month Club members. Remember to pick up your kit - it contains the history, folklore and fun facts of this month's herb, as well as picking up some nifty recipes. Marjoram this month, the sweeter cousin of oregano with a shared history of symbolizing love, protection and joy. If you’re interested in learning more , email adultprograms@westgreylibrary.com to sign up for the Herb of the Month Club. Places are limited. Anyone who hasn't picked up their kits in two months will be asked to step aside to allow a new member to join. Interest is high!
