A lecture and book signing for One Place: Paul Kwilecki and Four Decades of Photographs from Decatur County, Georgia  took place in Bainbridge, Georgia on Friday, February 28th at the Decatur County - Gilbert H. Gragg Library. The library hosted the book’s editor, Tom Rankin, who spoke about creating the compilation from hundreds of photographs and also signed copies. The lecture was held in conjunction with the Firehouse Gallery’s exhibit of Kwilecki’s works which were on display there on loan from Duke University. A few books are still available for purchase and make wonderful gifts. Each copy is hardbound and cost $45.00.

Summer Reading Program Plans

The plans for SRP 2014 are well underway. Mark your calendars for Tuesdays in June! Programs will be held at 10 a.m. in Decatur, 1 p.m. in Seminole, and 3:30 p.m. in Miller. SWGLAS Gets a Move ON in the Community! 

On Saturday, March 22nd, Arlene Freeman drove the SWGLAS car in Blakely, Georgia's Peanut Proud Parade. The parade runs from the high school to the town square. Ms. Freeman frequently goes out into the community to promote Southwest Georgia Library for Accessible Services to local citizens.

For advanced information visit: Job Corps online. People wanting to enroll should bring: Photo ID, Social Security Card, Birth Certificate, HS transcripts,  immunization records and proof of income. This is a Federal program which is all inclusive for transportation, food, housing and training for youth ages 16 to 24. 
Scribblers Society is open to all teens! Bainbridge HS has a special meeting April 21st at 3 p.m. in the BHS Library. The April 28th Society meeting is at Decatur County - Gilbert H. Gragg Library.
Free Intro to Computers Class

Learn computer basics at the library with this three-day course. This course is designed for those with little to no computer experience. Topics covered include: Introduction to Computers, Introduction to Microsoft Word 2010, and Introduction to the Internet. Each session is 1 hour long and attendance is required on each day.
