It's Summer at the Southwest Georgia Regional Library System, and that means amazing programs, fun prizes, and reading fun!

The Summer Reading Program theme for 2016 is Build a Better World! We'll be exploring how we can make our world a better place this summer,  and enjoying fun, entertaining shows from our performers.

Registration for Summer Reading will begin on Monday, May 22, 2017 at all libraries. Participants will receive a reading log to keep track of every 15 minutes you read. Participants must read 12.5 hours to complete a reading log.

Each completed reading log is will be worth 1 chance to win one of six Kindle Fires at the end of the summer. All completed logs are due on or before Friday, July 14, 2017.

For those who submit a completed reading log, there will be a celebratory photo taken for the newspaper on Thursday, July 20, 2017. The top 10 readers' names will be listed in the newspaper. Pictures will be taken at the Decatur County-Gilbert H. Gragg Library at 10 a.m., at the Seminole County Public Library at 1 p.m., and at the Miller County-James W. Merritt, Jr. Memorial Library at 3:30 p.m. We will also do our prize drawings at the photo, but winners do not have to be present to win.

There will be several fun programs at the library this summer. Read more to learn about all the fun we will have this summer. Be sure to visit your Southwest Georgia Regional Library System and be a part of a great Summer Reading Program!
