We are so thankful for this community's support and encouragement this past year while we worked through the many stages of the new library project. We were so thrilled to finally break ground in November, and we look forward to the day we can open the doors of our new community treasure.

New Library Updates
On Monday, December 16 a group of LTPL staff, Board Members, and Library Stakeholders met for a short groundbreaking ceremony at the new site. We are so excited to *officially* kick-off the start of the new library project! Below are some pictures from the site.

Due to the condition of the site, the lack of parking availability and other safety concerns we were unable to open up the groundbreaking ceremony to the public, but we hope to invite the public to another event in the future!

Make sure to follow us on all our social medias (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X) where we will share pictures and updates.

The Library Board and LTPL staff are thankful to our team - Quinn Evans Architects, Civil Engineering Solutions and Frank Rewold & Sons for their dedication to the new library project!

Start off the New Year with... a Murder Mystery??
Bet you didn't see that coming!
Mrs. Claus and the Nightmare Before New Year's
by Liz Ireland

When three unexpected guests show up in Santaland just after Christmas, Mrs. Claus tells all the village's inhabitants to “act normal”, but after one of the guests ends up dead, the countdown is on for April Claus to catch a killer.
Booked For Murder
by P. J. Nelson

In this atmospheric southern cozy debut, Madeline Brimley returns to the bookstore she inherited, discovering that small towns hold deadly secrets. Madeline Brimley left small town Georgia many years ago to go to college and pursue her dreams on the stage. Her dramatic escapades are many but success has eluded her, leaving her at loose ends. But then she gets word that not only has her beloved, eccentric Aunt Rose passed, but she's left Madeline her equally eccentric bookstore housed in an old Victorian mansion in the small college town of Enigma. But when she arrives in her beat-up Fiat to claim The Old Juniper Bookstore, and restart her life, Madeline is faced with unexpected challenges. The gazebo in the back yard is set ablaze and a late night caller threatens to burn the whole store down if she doesn't leave immediately. But Madeline Brimley, not one to be intimidated, ignores the threats and soldiers on. Until there's another fire and a murder in the store itself. Now with a cloud of suspicion falling over her, it's up to Madeline to untangle the skein of secrets and find the killer before she herself is the next victim.
Raised By A Serial Killer
by April Balascio

One evening in 2009, April Balascio was searching online, as she had been every night, for unsolved murders in the towns her family had lived growing up, when she stumbled across the latest investigations into the "Sweetheart Murders" cold case. All at once, the buried memories of her father's dark history were awakened, and she knew she had to take action. She picked up the phone to call a detective and the rest is infamous true crime history. In her unflinching memoir, Balascio bravely reveals an astonishing tale of a lifetime of manipulation, unexplained upheavals, and silent fear. Some part of her had always known what her father was capable of, but the full truth of how she came to these revelations is as riveting as it is quietly terrifying. Through searing storytelling, dedicated research, and intimate insight, Raised by a Serial Killer is a gripping, courageous memoir unlike any other.
