LTPL's Scarecrow on the Grand!
Meet Beckett the Scarecrow

As a newbie in the crow scaring field, Beckett used his LTPL card to checkout "Crow Scaring for Dummies", a book written by his predecessor (Tina the Scarecrow from 2023!) Beckett loves the library, because the libraries connect people with insight and knowledge.

Make sure to drop by Inspiration Park to see Beckett and the other awesome scarecrows! Vote for LTPL, take a screenshot of the confirmation, and you can show us at the front desk for a piece of candy.

New Library Updates
MILFORD ROAD CLOSURE

On Wednesday, October 1, Milford Road between 11 Mile Road and Locust Street in Lyon Township closed for driveway and utility construction under the road, and a center left turn lane extension north to Elk Run for the new Lyon Township Public Library. The closure is expected until November 11 (6 week project in total, and weather dependent).

We truly understand road closures can be frustrating, as they impact us all. We assure you that this is a necessary part of our project for the new library, and is being done for the safety of the community. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out.

Shared by Road Commission for Oakland County.

Community Reads 2025
The Neighborhood Library Association's
15th annual Community Reads selection:
"My Murder" by Katie Williams

Synopsis:
Lou is a happily married mother of an adorable toddler. She's also the victim of a local serial killer. Recently brought back to life and returned to her grieving family by a government project, she is grateful for this second chance. But as the new Lou re-adapts to her old routines, and as she bonds with other female victims, she realizes that disturbing questions remain about what exactly preceded her death and how much she can really trust those around her.

Now it's not enough to care for her child, love her husband, and work the job she's always enjoyed--she must also figure out the circumstances of her death. Darkly comic, tautly paced, and full of surprises, My Murder is a devour-in-one-sitting, clever twist on the classic thriller.
