Slime Time and States of Matter
  • Saturday, December 27, 11am OR 1pm.
  • This program is presented by staff from the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum & Leslie Science and Nature Center.
  • Is it a solid? Liquid? Gas? Participants will discover the properties of each state of matter while making two types of ooey, gooey slime. We’ll also discuss how molecules look and act when changing between states of matter. We'll get up and moving to determine what state your matter is in and everyone will get to take home their slime as well as a recipe to make it again at home.
  • Attendees must be between 6 and 14 years old.
  • Please register for one or the two sessions offered: 11am-12pm and 1pm-2pm.
Holiday Picture Books to Read With the Family
When positive words prove hard to come by in his bustling town, Jerome shares holiday wishes with his community by stringing joyful words on a tree.

It's Hanukkah It's a time to celebrate family and enjoy festive traditions. As Rachel and her parents prepare the house, family and friends travel from near and far to sing and tell stories. Together, they will light candles, play games, eat scrumptious foods, and, of course, dance the Hanukkah Hop. The stamping, the hopping, and the bim-bim-bopping is sure to go on all night.

Once Upon a Kwanzaa features Sawyer Cloud's stunning artwork showcasing seven different BIPOC families and highlights how different peoples of the Diaspora can celebrate in their communities, from setting the table and lighting the Kinara to sharing meals and gathering at events.
