Celebrate National Library Week April 7-13
Most people know about our wealth of available stories, from picture books and large print to audio books and eBooks, but there's so much more to the story...
Libraries are welcoming spaces that bring communities together for entertainment, education, and connection through book clubs, story times, movie days, classes, lectures, and more. If you haven't checked out the Elm Grove Library lately, you're missing the full story. Stop by for a visit to celebrate with us during National Library Week!
And for the kids, don't miss David Landau on Friday, April 5 at 10:30 a.m. Young children will enjoy this blend of silly jokes, active songs and familiar music. Kids of all ages and their caregivers are welcome. Recommended for ages 2-7.
How long have you worked at the library?
The weeks have flown by since I began working at the Elm Grove Public Library in February, 2024. After working for over 30 years as a public school teacher and guidance counselor, I am having a blast learning new things in a great place.

What kind of books do you like to read?
Reading has always been an important part of my life, however after a series of eye surgeries in 2022 my need and appreciation grew even more! Books (and the library) really were a lifeline during this rough patch. Murder Mysteries, Biographies/Autobiographies, cookbooks and history are usually my top picks.

Tell us something interesting about yourself that people might not know?
Prior to our move to a condo, I possessed an enormous collection of nuns. Hundreds and hundreds of them...sweet, silly, serious, sporty, and sentimental sisters. It started with a gift of a handmade feathery nun from my Grandmother. The collection surprised many people as they didn't see this as a match to my personality.

What do you like most about working in Elm Grove?
Elm Grove is a delightful enclave...a lovely collection of stores, engaging people and the most helpful library staff on the planet. I am really enjoying this chapter of my life.
