An Evening with Connie Berry, author of A Collection of Lies

  In conjunction with Boswell Book Company, the Elm Grove Library welcomes USA Today bestselling author Connie Berry, celebrating the fifth installment of the Kate Hamilton mystery series. In A Collection of Lies, American antiques dealer Kate Hamilton follows blood-stained clues to discover the truth about the murder of a modern-day Victorian gentleman.
  Join us at the library for a discussion, Q&A, and signing of a book praised as "a Scottish delight that will keep you on your toes until the very end.” (Carlene O’Connor). This event is free to attend. Please register in advance. Books will be available for sale.

  As an artist he was prolific and temperamental. As a man he was difficult, mercurial, and violent; vilified as an absolute sinner. He saw everything. He lived everything. His paintings evoked affetti - human emotions: they had drama, beauty, movement, pretense, and yes, horror!
  Join us as we survey the life and works of one of the most celebrated artists of his time on the colorful stage of the Italian Baroque: Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio. Presented by Professor Karri Fritz-Klaus of Cornerstone History Symposium.
  This is the first lecture in a five-part series. Mark your calendars for the remaining presentations (9/10: Vermeer, 10/8: Rembrandt, 11/12: Klimt, 12/10: Turner).
