A Story From the Stacks

Jamie Bishop shares how her son, Owen, has met many developmental milestones at Town Hall Library:

“The Library has always been a very special place for our family. Owen was born prematurely at just 3 pounds (though you’d never guess it now!). During his first year and a half of life we worked incredibly hard to help him build strength, confidence, and new skills. Town Hall Library played a meaningful role in that journey.

The Library is where Owen took his first steps, learned to climb and navigate stairs—something we don’t have at home since we live in a ranch—and began developing important social skills through interactive play with other children. It has also been a place for him to explore his creativity in the Makerspace and to discover a love of reading as we’ve shared so many wonderful children’s books together.

Because of these experiences, Owen is now a thriving toddler with an outspoken, creative, and often rambunctious personality of his own!

Having a public space so close to home that fosters learning, social connection, and creativity has been truly invaluable to our family. We are deeply grateful for all that the library and its staff provide to our community.”
