Vermeer

Tuesday, November 4 • 6–7:30 pm

Completing little more than two paintings per year, the Vermeer oeuvre is unusually small compared to the great masters, and yet how magnificent this small collection of small paintings is! He painted ‘the quiet’ and he painted ‘time.’ His “painting is an elegy for a moment which—unless Vermeer had captured it—would have slipped away forever: women busy with their chores, children entranced by their game, clouds filtering the sunlight.” Join us as we survey the life and works of one of the true Dutch masters, Johannes Vermeer.
