Join the Book Brigade!
The Friends of the Oconomowoc Library need volunteers to help pre-sort donations for our two annual used book sales. You’ll work with other volunteers at the Library to review donations using our updated guidelines. This helps make shopping easier and reduces leftover books after the sale.

May Reading Challenge
Read 10 hours this month and earn a Beardie Buck good for $1 toward the purchase of a Friends Book Sale item! Visit the New Children’s Shelf to pick up your log, track your reading, and return the completed log to the desk within the first week of June.
Programs & Events
Library programs, events, and activities are free and open to the public, but some may require registration. A waiting list is available if registration is full.
Adding Native Plants to Any Size Gardening Space Webinar with Melinda Myers

Whether gardening on a balcony, small city lot or larger space, Melinda will help you select the right native plants to include in gardens and containers. Including native plants provides many benefits such as capturing and helping clean and manage stormwater and supporting pollinators and other beneficial insects and songbirds. They add enjoyment and seasonal beauty to your landscape. Growing even a few native plants in a container can help support pollinators and songbirds and boost your enjoyment. Registration is required.

Embracing the Sacredness of Life and Death with Kathy Ginn
Wednesday, May 20 • 6–7 pm
Explore life, aging, and end of life through guided reflection and compassionate conversation with Kathy Ginn. Participants will learn about aging with meaning, embracing mortality, and how end‑of‑life doulas and grief companions support the dying experience. Kathy, founder of 4Rivers Center for Well Being and Sacred River in Oconomowoc, brings deep compassion and experience to this meaningful discussion. Registration is required.
Be inspired and put your own stories into words in a supportive and inclusive environment. Bring your notebook or laptop and develop your writing practice. Tea provided, and feel free to bring a snack to share.

Learn to paint with watercolors with step-by-step instructions. This month: Fairy Garden
Join us for the OPL's Rambling Readers, a read-anything walking book club. Chat about what you're reading and get ideas for what to read next, all while walking around Fowler Lake (~2 miles).
Meet on the Library steps at 7 pm wearing comfortable walking shoes. We'll start walking toward Lac La Belle at 7:05.

Annual membership fees help support the Friends fundraising efforts and give members early access to book sales.
