Container gardens add color and seasonal interest to balconies, patios, decks, and even your front entrance. No matter where they’re placed, matching the plants to the available sunlight will help boost success. Gardening expert and author Melinda Myers will share container plant combinations for both sun-filled and shady locations. Plus, she’ll provide tips on the proper care to keep them looking good all season long. |

Help paint the Summer Reading Program Murals at our March, April, and May Bookmark Makers meetups! Join our monthly bookmark making bonanza! Make one (or more) to give away to patrons at the library and one to take home. Supplies provided but feel free to bring your own paper arts and ribbon supplies to embellish! |

| Wednesday, May 14 • 6-8pm | In this presentation on digestive health, we will explore the role and dynamics of the microbiota in health and disease and learn practical ways to improve our digestion.
You will learn the latest scientific research on the microbiome, it’s connection to digestion, the immune system and emotional health. You will understand what constitutes pre- and probiotic foods. Discover how fermenting differs from pickling, the history and the health benefits of live cultured foods.
A basic sauerkraut demonstration is included. You will have the opportunity to taste other live cultured foods (like gingered carrots, kefir, and kombucha) Recipes for using your sauerkraut in a variety of ways from soup to salads, entrees and even smoothies will be included.

Come on down to the library for some designated crafting time with other teens! Bring your current project and join us, or come and learn a new skill! We will have limited beginner supplies. |

| Saturday, May 17 • 9-10 am | Meet up at Veterans Memorial Park for a walk down memory lane. Learn about the history of the settlers who founded Oconomowoc, the families who built the architectural jewels on our lakes, and our community that has thrived for more than 150 years! |
