TalkReadPlay

TalkReadPlay Imagination Library

Free books mailed monthly to children from Birth to Age 5!

To celebrate the opening of the TalkReadPlay Center at the Watertown Public Library, we are excited to announce a partnership with the Dolly Parton Imagination Library! This program promotes early childhood literacy and fosters parent/caregiver-child interaction, which helps children learn the skills they will need for kindergarten, including larger vocabularies and healthy social and emotional development.

The Imagination Library provides a specially-selected, high-quality book each month to participating children from Birth to Age 5. Books are selected based on the child’s age and mailed directly to their home each month to create a gifting experience that makes books exciting and encourages families to spend time reading together. Two of the high-quality books featured each year are written in Spanish.

Coordinated and funded by the Greater Watertown Community Health Foundation, the program is available to children who reside in the following school district areas:

  • Dodgeland
  • Hustisford
  • Ixonia
  • Jefferson
  • Johnson Creek
  • Lake Mills
  • Waterloo
  • Watertown

Families with children ages Birth - 5 may sign up for the Imagination Library at https://imaginationlibrary.com/check-availability.
