Library Remodel Update! |
Phase 1 of the library remodel has been completed! This means the library is now open to the staff and public as Miron Construction works on creating the expansion. Once the expansion is complete that will be the end of Phase 2. We will have 3 phases of construction and expect the library to be completely finished in late 2025. New Take and Make for Kids!

Staff training and education while we were closed! |

While the Whitewater Public Library was closed for Phase 1 of the remodel the staff did lots of training and had many educational opportunities! These are details on just a few of them!
- Fire extinguisher training from the Whitewater Fire department!
- Library staff was trained by the Whitewater Fire department on how to properly and safely put out a fire. We got hands on training by being able to use a fire extinguisher on a controlled fire.
- CPR and AED training from the Whitewater EMS department!
- Staff was trained on CPR for adults and children, as well as how to use the AED on both. It was very important safety training that will help the library staff be ready for anything that might happen!
- Tour of our book distributor, Baker and Taylor!
- Our Assistant Director, Rachel, went on a tour of our biggest book vendor, Baker & Taylor! Did you know most of our books come from their facility located in Illinois? This means when we order new books they get here really fast!
- New Library Calendar Software training!
- The Library will be getting a new calendar software to book meeting rooms and reserve space for programs! Staff was trained on the new software and we are excited to use it.
- Trainings from Udemy!
- Udemy offers on-demand online video learning courses that can be accessed anytime, anywhere. Learn programming, marketing, business skills, design, and more.
