Groundbreaking Celebration kicked off construction! 

On Wednesday, October 2^nd at 5pm a group of library supporters gathered on the front lawn of the Irvin L. Young Memorial Library to celebrate the start of the long-awaited remodel and expansion project. After speeches from Library Board President Jennifer Motszko, Capital Campaign Committee, and Library Director Diane Jaroch, ground was broken and cake was served!

The Library would like to give a huge thank you to Studio GC, Miron Construction, and Library Staff that helped to make this event possible. We would also like to thank all the wonderful library supporters in our community the attended the groundbreaking ceremony or sent their well wishes!

Projects to be made with wood from trees removed

Two large trees had to be removed in order for the Library to be expanded. We were very sad to see them cut down, so in addition to promising to plant more trees than we cut down, we save wood to be able to make two projects. The round slice, called a cookie, will have its rings dated and be displayed in the Library. The large 6 foot section of wood will be used to make a bench or two!
