Tech Help by Appointment
Tuesdays and Fridays at 10:30 AM, 1:00 PM, and 2:00 PM and Wednesdays at 2:00 PM and 6:30 PM
Do you need help getting around your laptop or tablet? Would you like to set up an email account? Do you want to download an eBook? Need help searching for and applying for jobs? Tech help appointments are now available. Appointments last up to 1 hour. Registration is required. 
 
Trivia Night
Friday, September 12 at 6:00 pm
It's trivia night and your team might win a prize! Teams can be up to 4 people, and if you don't have a team you can join one. Please bring something for the potluck table; we'll provide the mocktails. You might even win a door prize! For adults 18+. Registration is required. The library is closed from 5:00 pm until 6:00 pm then will be open to adults from 6:00 pm until 8:30 pm.
 
Pictures with Santa
Saturday, September 13, by appointment
You and your family of any size can get your picture taken with Santa! Bring your own camera or use your phone camera and we'll take the picture for you. You'll have a 10 minute appointment to get the best shots. At home you can use the photos to create Christmas cards or to share on social media. Registration is required.
 
Art Reception & Exhibit: Anne Hickman
Monday, September 15 at 7:00 pm
Salina Library will host a reception for artist Anne Hickman on Monday, September 15th from 7:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Ms.Hickman crafts with paper using the quilling technique, twirling and forming colorful strips of paper into shapes with a slotted tool. She has always enjoyed crafts and gardening, and previously taught quilling and cake decorating, alongside teaching elementary school. Meet the artist at the reception or view her work displayed throughout the month of September. 
 
Pet Pictures with Santa
Saturday, September 27, by appointment
You and your pet can get your picture taken with Santa! Bring your own camera or use your phone camera and we'll take the picture for you. You'll have a 10 minute appointment to get the best shots. Tuesday, September 2 at 6:00 pm
Share in the joy of cooking and baking! Participants bring in a seafood dish then taste everyone's dishes and discuss recipes and flavors. For adults 18+. Please register.

Salina Writers Group
Wednesday, September 10 at 6:30 pm
Hone your writing skills. Facilitated by Debbie Stack, local author, editor, and TV scriptwriter. Get feedback and share questions and ideas. For adults 18+. Please register.
 
Community Bingo
Monday, September 15 at 12:00 pm
Socialize and have fun playing bingo! Bring a new item under $5 for the prize table; it can be anything from a candy bar to a bar of soap. Use your imagination! You are welcome to bring your own snacks and drinks, or there are some for sale at the library. For adults 18+. Registration is required.
 
Workplace Safety and Health Overview
Tuesday, September 16 at 6:00 pm
During this training, participants will gain practical information to recognize safety and health hazards in their workplace, as well as strategies to protect themselves and others. The session will include information on workers’ rights, how to file a workplace health and safety complaint, and whistleblowing protections. This informational session will be led by Dr. Augusta Williams, Mattydale resident and Assistant Professor at Upstate Medical University. This training is provided thanks to a grant from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration Susan B. Harwood Training Grant SH-000198-SH4. For adults 18+. Please register.

Climate Resilience & Worker Safety and Health
Thursday, September 25 at 6:00 pm
During this training, participants will gain practical information to recognize safety and health hazards in their workplace related to climate change and severe weather, including heat, sun exposure, ticks, flooding, and air quality. Participants will learn how to protect themselves and others from these types of hazards. This training is helpful for anyone working or otherwise exposed to severe weather outside. This informational session will be led by Dr. Augusta Williams, Mattydale resident and Assistant Professor at Upstate Medical University. Dance Party
Friday, September 26 at 11:00 am
Dance for an hour with your friends, or sit and enjoy the music and the company! For adults with disabilities 18+, along with a mentor or family member. The room is available from 12-1 pm for lunch, if you'd like to stay after the dance. Please register everyone in your group, including mentors and family members.

Neurodivergent adults can meet new people in our quiet room with low lighting; there are even 4 bean bag chairs for comfy lounging.
