Dinovember Egg Hunt
All November, During Library Hours
Throughout the Library
Go on an egg hunt to find a dinosaur sticker! Find a plastic egg hiding in the library and open it to reveal a dino sticker that you get to keep! Take it to a staff member to refill the egg and hide it for someone else! One egg/sticker per person per day.
Read, Watch, Listen, Play, WIN!
During Library Hours

Have a chance to win prizes just for checking out materials at the library! For every 5 items that you check out in a single transaction, you’ll earn a ticket to put in the drawing of your choice. No limits! The more you check out, the more chances you have to win. There will be new prizes to win every month!
Dino Buddies Reptile Encounter
Monday, November 10th, 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM
London Public Library Hartley Meeting Room
Have a hands-on experience with reptiles! Dino Buddies will present a unique program that includes fun games, crafts, and of course reptile encounters! You will have the opportunity to see, touch, and hold amazing reptiles! This high-energy program will also feature lifelike dinosaurs, interactive storytelling, themed games, and educational elements that blend fun with science.
CLOSED - Veterans Day

London Public Library
The London Public Library will be closed all day on Tuesday, November 11th in observance of Veterans Day. The library will reopen and resume normal hours on Wednesday, November 12th.
Paws for Reading with Emma
Tuesday, November 18th, 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM
London Public Library Reading Room
NEW TIME! Read to a real dog! Register your child for a 10 minute time slot in which they will read a story to certified therapy dog, Emma. Emma is a nonjudgmental listener who will encourage children to read and help struggling readers find confidence. 
*Have a book picked out and ready to read for your time slot.
Yarnies: Fiber Arts Club
Wednesday, November 19th, 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM
London Public Library Reading Room
Join us for an hour of crafting! If you enjoy knitting, crocheting, or any other fiber arts please join us for an hour of socializing and crafting! Whether you're a beginner or an expert, bring along your current project and work alongside others who enjoy crafting as much as you! This is not a class, but we do encourage anyone that comes to share their skills with beginners if they feel so inclined. Yarnies will meet in the Magazine/Newspaper room upstairs in the library, across from the front desk.
CLOSED - Thanksgiving Day

The London Public Library will be closed Thursday, November 27th in observance of Thanksgiving Day. The library will also be closing early the day prior, Wednesday, November 26th at 5PM. The library will reopen and resume normal hours of operation on Friday, November 28th.

Toddler Time will engage your child with stories, songs, and finger plays. For ages 0 - 3 years. Each week focuses on a different theme using books, songs, and finger plays to reinforce the topic and boost early literacy. We incorporate lots of music and movement. There are weeks we will use musical instruments, scarves, balls, and a parachute.
*Please note: There will be no Toddler Time on Tuesday, November 11th due to holiday closure.

Preschool Story Time will delight your child with stories, songs, finger plays, and a weekly letter activity. For ages 3 - 6 years. Each week focuses on a different theme using books, songs, and finger plays to reinforce the topic and boost early literacy. We incorporate lots of music and movement. There are weeks we will use musical instruments, scarves, balls, and a parachute. Preschoolers have the opportunity to practice the alphabet with a special letter activity after the regular story time is finished.
*Please note: There will be no Preschool Story Time on Tuesday, November 11th due to holiday closure.

Children ages 4 - 6 can practice the alphabet and motor skills to prepare for kindergarten! We will practice letter sounds and writing letters using a variety of multisensory literacy activities. Children can also master the important fine motor skills and gross motor skills needed to start school. We will work on numbers and counting, scissors, sorting, patterns, and more!

Teen Advisory Board Meeting

Why should I join the TAB? You will have a hand in creating programs specifically for teens. You will be able to recommend materials for our collection. You will get community service hours for every TAB meeting that you attend. You will be able to put a leadership position on your college application. You will have the opportunity to make the library a better place for teens.
Flower Arrangement Class

Tasha Gillespie, owner of London Florist and Garden Center, leads us in creating our own fall flower arrangements. All supplies (including vases) will be provided. If you have your own vase that you would like to use, please feel free to bring it with you! (Ages 18+) Register here.
Read Anything Book Club

The London Public Library has a new book club! Read a book that fits our monthly theme and come prepared to talk about it! Book suggestions will be provided here but you are not required to read a book from that list. All reading levels are welcome. This month’s theme is Food. (Ages 14+)

Join us on the 2nd Tuesday of every month when we meet to discuss the current book and pick up the next month’s title. We reserve copies that you can get at the library. This month we will be reading The Wager by David Grann. (Ages 18+) 
Crocheted Christmas Ornaments
Tuesday, November 25th, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
London Public Library Hartley Meeting Room
Come make your own crocheted Christmas ornament! Whether you have been crocheting for years or you are just learning, you will be welcome at this crocheted craft event. All supplies, including yarn and crochet hooks, will be provided. Program will be led by Teen Advisory Board member, Norah. (Ages 11-17) Register here.

Are you struggling to work the new iPad you got for Christmas? Maybe you want to set up a social media account but don't know where to start? Do you want to become more knowledgeable on how to work your email? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then the London Public Library can help! We are now offering FREE Technology Help Sessions during the week by appointment only! Call or come in to schedule your help session! Each help session will provide a one-on-one 45-minute time block where you can ask questions and be shown how to use/do various tasks. Help session attendees must bring their own technology to learn on.
