Are You Smarter Than Your Parents... About Civics?

To celebrate our country's 250th anniversary, we're testing your civics knowledge! Kids, bring your grown ups and get ready for some friendly competition. Kids and grown ups will go head to head to see who knows more about American Government in this game show-style event. Fun USA-themed prizes will be up for grabs! (All ages)

Summer Concert Series: Kopperhead Creek

Join us on the grass behind the library for a free lunch and a concert by Kopperhead Creek! In the case of bad weather, the concert will be moved inside to the Hartley Meeting Room. (All ages)
Friends of the Library Book Sale

Book Nook (Behind the London Public Library)
Visit the Book Nook May-October on the first Saturday of each month from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for great deals on books, DVDs, and more! Bring a bag from previous years to fill up with books and pay only $5! There are children's books, teen, fantasy, mysteries, thrillers, adult, crime, nonfiction, cookbooks, self-help, romance, and more. Help support your London Public Library by shopping locally for your books!

Join us for an hour of crafting! If you enjoy knitting, crocheting, or any other fiber arts please join us for an hour of socializing and crafting! Whether you're a beginner or an expert, bring along your current project and work alongside others who enjoy crafting as much as you! This is not a class, but we do encourage anyone that comes to share their skills with beginners if they feel so inclined. Yarnies will meet in the Magazine/Newspaper room upstairs in the library, across from the front desk. (All ages)

End of Summer Reading Party

Celebrate the end of summer with a spectacular party at the library!! Join us for face painting, snow cones, a life-sized Angry Birds game, and a dino extraction activity. Spiderman and Princess Tiana will also be making a guest appearance so mark your calendars and come party with us! (All ages)

Free Lunches for Students
Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM
London Public Library Back Lawn
Enjoy a free lunch at the library! Any student 18 years old or younger can stop by the London Public Library for a free lunch from 12:00pm - 1:00pm! Lunches will be provided by and also available at the London Church of the Nazarene. Lunch will be served in the grassy area behind the library. If bad weather occurs, lunch will be served in the Hartley Room. (Ages 0-18)

A Paleontologist's View on the Jurassic Park Movies

Dale Gnidovec from the Orton Geological Museum at The Ohio State University joins us to give us a Paleontologist's view on the Jurassic Park movies! The dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals in the Jurassic Park films are very lifelike, but how scientifically accurate are they? This talk discusses what the filmmakers got right and what they got wrong. (Ages 18+)
Flower Arrangement Class

Beginner Calligraphy

Join us for a beginner calligraphy class! This workshop will cover the basic tips and tricks of crafting lovely letters and words using everyday tools and techniques at your disposal—no fancy fountain pens, messy ink wells, or gothic lettering knowledge needed. (Ages 18+)

Are you struggling to work the new iPad you got for Christmas? Maybe you want to set up a social media account but don't know where to start? Do you want to become more knowledgeable on how to work your email? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then the London Public Library can help! We are now offering FREE Technology Help Sessions during the week by appointment only! Call or come in to schedule your help session! Each help session will provide a one-on-one 45-minute time block where you can ask questions and be shown how to use/do various tasks. Help session attendees must bring their own technology to learn on.
