Essay Contest for All Ages
 
In honor of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the Mason County District Library is sponsoring an essay and art contest, answering the question: If the Declaration of Independence could talk, what story would it tell?
 
Writers and artists in grades 5-12, and adult may pick up an entry form and information packet at either the Ludington or the Scottville branch, or print them from our website. Entries must be returned to the library by 6 pm Friday, May 22, 2026. The top 3 submissions from each age division will receive $100, $50, and $25 prizes respectively. Trivia Night in Ludington

Wednesday, April 1, 2026
6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
 
It's almost Trivia Time again! Richie will lead trivia teams in a mind-blowing evening filled with challenging questions in a variety of categories all delivered with a powerful combination of wit and knowledge. Groups should be 2-5 people ready to battle it out together. There will be fun prizes available.  Events at the library are free of charge and full of entertainment.  
 

Scam Awareness Presentation 

Tuesday, April 14, 2:00-3:00 pm

Join a representative from Huntington Bank to find out how to build your defenses and gain knowledge concerning various scams that could hinder your privacy and deplete your bank account. This event will be in the West Shore Bank room. Registration is appreciated; please register here, or call the library to reserve your spot.

Library Book Clubs
  • Social Awareness Book Club - SABC will meet on April 8th at 10:30am to discuss American Dirt by Jeanine Cummins. The Social Awareness Book Club of the Mason County District Library is a place to have open discussions about the books we read and the topics in them. The SABC is open to all points of view. Join the discussion in-person at the Ludington Library or virtually on Zoom.   • Scottville Adult Book Club - For April, the club is reading Once There Were Wolves by Charlotte McConaghy. We meet from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 16th at the Scottville Library.
