  • Chess! Play chess at the Ludington Library on Tuesdays from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm in the Zonta Room. Everyone is welcome to come and play chess or learn how to play.
  • Tech Help Wednesdays in Ludington from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Bring your device and your questions, and we will try to help you solve your technology related problems.
  • Tech Help in Scottville on Thursdays at the Scottville Area Senior Center starting at 12:15 pm.
  • Monthly Family Bingo! A fun, FREE night for the whole family in Scottville on the first Tuesday of each month from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

  • Social Awareness Book Club - Kristin Hannah’s “The Women” is the Social Awareness Book Club pick for April, with discussion at the Ludington Library on Wednesday, April 9th at 10:30 am. Copies are available to check out at the Ludington Library’s main circulation desk.
  • Scottville Adult Book Club - In April, we are discussing “A Dirty Job” (Grim Reaper #1) by Christopher Moore. Stop at Scottville Library’s front desk to grab a copy! We’ll meet on Thursday, April 17th from 4:00 to 5:00 pm in Scottville Library’s Community Room. All adults are welcome.

Genealogy Research Help

The Seed Library is OPEN
at the Ludington & Scottville Libraries
 
Mason County District Library's Seed Library is now open and is available through mid-September. Seed packets are FREE and you can pop in anytime at either branch to check the selection. We have leafy vegetables, root vegetables, fruits (peppers and tomatoes), native milkweeds, and more available now. As the weather changes, there will be native grasses and flower seeds as well.

Trivia Night: April 16
Trivia Night in Ludington
Wednesday, April 16, 6 pm
 
 Richie will lead trivia teams in a mind-blowing evening filled with challenging questions in a variety of categories all delivered with a powerful combination of wit and knowledge. Groups should be 2-5 people ready to battle it out together. There will be prizes for the first and runner up. HOP on over for an EGGsellent evening of Trivia!

April Adult Craft

What can you do with those left-over jars? Join us at the Ludington Library April 9 or at the Scottville Library April 15 for a night of crafting  with recycled glass jars, already painted in white or yellow, to be transformed into a fun Easter/spring decoration that is sure to lighten your house this holiday season.  All supplies will be provided. 1-2-3 Rhyme with Me
Mondays in Ludington at 10 am
 
1-2-3, Rhyme with Me! Ms. Emily leads us in rhymes and songs every Monday morning at 10:00 am in the Ludington library. Perfect for children ages 0-3 and a caregiver, this is a time for learning early literacy skills and having a social outing with friends!

Preschool Story Time
10 am on Wednesdays in Ludington
10 am on Fridays in Scottville
 
Story time meets on Wednesday in Ludington and Friday in Scottville, at 10:00 am. Families are welcome to join in the songs, rhymes, calendar, dancing, music and story, and activity at the end. Building reading skills begins with our first words - don't miss out on this fun time of activity and education!
 
Join us for STEM-based Story time on the first week of each month!

Creative Kids Activities

Our usual schedule for Creative Kids, where our staff have fun activities, crafts, movies, and more in store for your school-aged children:

  • Tuesday and Friday in Ludington from 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm.

Lego Saturdays
Activities suitable for ages 3 to 12
 
Legos Out! Our big pile of Legos is available every Saturday from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm in both Ludington and Scottville. If you don't see them on the floor, just ask and we'll bring them out for you. It's a great way to spend a quiet day!
 
All MCDL Programs are FREE. Children under 8 must be supervised by an adult, especially for this small-piece activity.
