The 2026 Summer Reading Program is officially here! The Douglas County Public Library invites everyone to participate from June 1 – July 31.

Plant a Seed, Read is this year’s theme with reading and activity challenges for all ages and reading levels.

You may register online on the library’s Beanstack webpage at douglascountynv.beanstack.org to log reading and earn prizes on your Beanstack account.

The Summer Reading Program is sponsored and made possible in part by the Friends of the Douglas County Public Library, the Institute of Museum and Library Services, and the Nevada State Library, Archives and Public Records.

We have many copies of

"The True Tails of Baker and Taylor"

available for checkout at the library.

Volunteer & Donation Opportunities

The mission of the DCPLF is to fund the development of future services for the Douglas County Public Library.

Expansion of the library to include the following projects:

Expansion of the library to include a new community room.
Redevelopment of staff workspace into community areas.
Expansion of the library area for book donations and storage.
Develop current space to include a larger quiet area space for the public.
Develop a small public meeting room with technology.
Create an area for more parking. (Purchase property in the back of library)
Create an outdoor reading space for the children.
Create an endowment fund to keep the library as a thriving community space.
