SOMETHING SPECIAL IN JULY
Messy Paint Day Planned for July 17

Rodman Public Library is giving area youth, ages 10 to 18, the opportunity to express themselves artistically in July with a Messy Paint Day.

From 3 to 5 p.m. on Thursday, July 17, participants can gather outside the Main Library for the event in which they will use a variety of tools and instruments, such as squirt guns, to splatter paint on canvas to create a modern art masterpiece.

Youth will also have the opportunity to tie-dye a shirt during a portion of the program, using a method that utilizes colored permanent markers and rubbing alcohol to create designs. Those wishing to do so should bring their own white cotton shirt.

Those participating should wear old clothes and be prepared to get messy during the outdoor event.

Rain date is Thursday, July 24.

Registration is not required to participate in the event.
