Science Kit Giveaway Starting July 6, children can pick up a “My First Science Kit” filled with instructions, materials and equipment to conduct more than 100 experiments at Rodman Public Library. With the STEM kit, kids will make fizzy potions, water fireworks, create an ocean in a bottle, conduct color science experiments, and make perfume – among others. The kits are provided through the Greater Alliance Foundation to celebrate summer enrichment and America 250. The kits, recommended for ages 4 and older, are available only at the Main Library on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. Only one kit per family. |
July 2 - Americana Chalk Obstacle Course

Unearth A Story at RPL This Summer
Summer is a great time for discovery. It’s a time to find new stories, uncover lost histories, learn new skills, and go on new adventures. Rodman Public Library invites all patrons to take part in the 2026 Summer Reading Program, which has the theme of “Unearth A Story,” celebrating the many ways people can do all of those things through books and other resources found right at their local library. |

What's That Snake? Provided by the State Library of Ohio, What Tree is It? allows users to identify Ohio trees by searching for specific features like leaves and fruit, or by their common and scientific names. |
Tabletop Gaming Tabletop Gaming, a popular all-ages program continues at the Main Library at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 7. Each month, a new game is featured so that patrons can learn a new game. Of course, games from the library’s collection are also available and visitors are welcome to bring their own games. The free monthly event is held on the first Tuesday of each month. The aim of the family program is to give area residents an opportunity to gather with others to play their favorite card and board games and make new friends. Light snacks will be offered and no registration is required to attend the monthly program. Although the program is open to players of all ages, children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.

Rodman Chess Club The popular Rodman Chess Club will meet at Rodman Public Library on July 15 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Main Auditorium. Although it is called a club, the program has no formal membership and is open to all interested in the ancient game of strategy. Players of all ages and levels are welcome to come and go throughout the evening. Several boards are set up in the auditorium and players mingle to find opponents. Chess Club is held on the third Wednesday of each month. |
