Teen Trivia Night is September 24 Teens, ages 12 to 18, are invited to attend a special Teen Trivia Night on Thursday, September 24. From 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., teens will compete in trivia contests based on popular TV game shows inside the Rodman Auditorium. Like all teen programs at Rodman Public Library, it is free to compete in Teen Trivia. Space is limited, however, and registration is required.

Teen Craft Club Teen Craft Club will be offered in the Library Makerspace on the fourth Monday of each month from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., beginning September 28. Teens, ages 12 to 18, can join in anytime during the two-hour period to craft and chat. Supplies for specific crafts will be provided each month, but teens are welcome to bring their own materials to work on a craft of their choosing. The program is free, but space is limited and registration is required.

Teen D&D Teens, 12-18, can sign up at Rodman Public Library to participate in an ongoing series of “one-shot” Dungeons and Dragons missions every month. Players do not have to play consistently each month to participate. Those interested can sign up via our online calendar on a month-to-month basis. Space will be limited each month to six players. A DnD Beyond account and email address is required to play. Sessions are usually held on the second Monday of each month from 5 to 7:30 p.m. September's session will be held a week later on September 21 due to scheduling conflicts.

Teen Book Club Meets August Rodman Public Library invites teens, ages 12 to 18, to join the Teen Book Club, which meets every third Wednesday of the month at 4 p.m. at the Main Library. The May session will be held September 16 when the selection will be by Brian Selznick. Registration is required to attend the book discussion.

Transparent Language Learners of all ages can start learning a new language and build vocabulary, practice skills, and maintain what they have learned with Transparent Language Online. The database is available anytime, anywhere in 110+ languages. Users will have to use a valid Rodman Library card and create a free account, using our website. You can find all 70+ databases offered by RPL online at rodmanlibrary.com/databases. Most can be accessed from your own device with a valid library card. Tabletop Gaming Tabletop Gaming, a popular all-ages program continues at the Main Library at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 1. Each month, a new game will be featured so that patrons can learn a new game. Of course, other games available in the library’s collection will also be available and visitors are always welcome to bring their own games. The free monthly event is usually held on the first Tuesday of each month, but is being held a week later in August due to the used book sale conducted by Friends of Rodman Library. No registration is required to attend the monthly program. Although the program is open to players of all ages, children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.

Rodman Chess Club The popular Rodman Chess Club will be held inside the Rodman Auditorium on from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 16. Although it is called a club, the program has no formal membership and is open to all interested in the ancient game of strategy. Players of all ages and levels are welcome to come and go throughout the evening. Several boards are set up in the auditorium and players mingle to find opponents. Chess Club is held on the third Wednesday of each month.
