Unearth A Story at RPL This Summer Summer is a great time for discovery. It’s a time to find new stories, uncover lost histories, learn new skills, and go on new adventures. Rodman Public Library invites all patrons to take part in the 2026 Summer Reading Program, which has the theme of “Unearth A Story,” celebrating the many ways people can do all of those things through books and other resources found right at their local library.

Teen D&D is Back at RPL Teens, 12-18, can sign up at Rodman Public Library to participate in an ongoing series of “one-shot” Dungeons and Dragons missions every month. Players do not have to play consistently each month to participate. Those interested can sign up via our online calendar on a month-to-month basis. Space will be limited each month to six players. A DnD Beyond account and email address is required to play. Sessions will be held on the second Monday of each month from 5 to 7:30 p.m.

Teen Book Club Meets June 17 Rodman Public Library invites teens, ages 12 to 18, to join the Teen Book Club, which meets every third Wednesday of the month at 4 p.m. at the Main Library. What's That Snake? What’s That Snake? is a regional, web-based field guide designed specifically to help users identify native snakes found throughout Ohio. Hosted by the Ohio Public Library Information Network and offers several user-friendly tools, including a quick identification guide, an A to Z species directory, and safety resources. You can find all 70+ databases offered by RPL online at rodmanlibrary.com/databases. Most can be accessed from your own device with a valid library card. Tabletop Gaming Tabletop Gaming, a popular all-ages program returns to the Main Library at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2. Each month, a new game will be featured so that patrons can learn a new game. Of course, other games available in the library’s collection will also be available and visitors are always welcome to bring their own games. The free monthly event is held on the first Tuesday of each month. Nno registration is required to attend the monthly program. Although the program is open to players of all ages, children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.

Rodman Chess Club The popular Rodman Chess Club will be held inside the Rodman Auditorium on from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17. Although it is called a club, the program has no formal membership and is open to all interested in the ancient game of strategy. Players of all ages and levels are welcome to come and go throughout the evening. Several boards are set up in the auditorium and players mingle to find opponents. Chess Club is held on the third Wednesday of each month.
