Learn a New Skill at RPL Youth, ages 10 to 18, are invited to gain some culinary confidence on Thursday, April 16 at 3:30 p.m. when Rodman Public Library hosts Kitchen Knife Skills for Tweens and Teens in the Main Auditorium. Participants will learn how to safely utilize knives in the kitchen in a class taught by Elizabeth Schweigert, an educator from Central State University Extension – Northeast Region. While learning these new skills, the kids will use a recipe to assemble Southwest bowls. Teen Book Club Meets April Rodman Public Library invites teens, ages 12 to 18, to join the Teen Book Club, which meets every third Wednesday of the month at 4 p.m. at the Main Library. Explora Secondary (Grades 6-12) Explora Secondary provides easy-to-use features that link you to a variety of content from the world leaders in magazines and reference materials. The content provided covers thousands of topics such as animals, biographies, business, government, current issues, geography, history, science, and math just to name a few. You can find all 70+ databases offered by RPL online at rodmanlibrary.com/databases. Most can be accessed from your own device with a valid library card. Tabletop Gaming Tabletop Gaming, a popular all-ages program returns to the Main Library at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7. Each month, a new game will be featured so that patrons can learn a new game. Of course, other games available in the library’s collection will also be available and visitors are always welcome to bring their own games. The free monthly event is held on the first Tuesday of each month. Nno registration is required to attend the monthly program. Although the program is open to players of all ages, children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.

Rodman Chess Club The popular Rodman Chess Club will be held inside the Rodman Auditorium on from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15. Although it is called a club, the program has no formal membership and is open to all interested in the ancient game of strategy. Players of all ages and levels are welcome to come and go throughout the evening. Several boards are set up in the auditorium and players mingle to find opponents. Chess Club is held on the third Wednesday of each month.
