Meet World War 2 Veteran Andrew "Tim" Kiniry

Andrew “Tim” Kiniry, who fought in World War II, will be at the library to talk about his experiences during the war. Tim, who is 102, was born in Philadelphia on November 15th,1921. He was drafted into the United States Army on August 22nd, 1942. He served with the 45th Evacuation Hospital. As a medic, he was one of the first to arrive at Buchenwald, one of the largest concentration camps in Germany. Registration is required online or by calling the library at 856-589-3334. This program is open to everyone.

Whether you’re a master chef or a casual baker, join our cookbook book club Read it and Eat! Check out one of the library’s cookbooks, test out your skills, and share a new recipe with the group. We’ll be choosing a new theme each month for you to find a recipe and make a dish. Summer is the perfect time to cook or bake with stone fruits. There are so many kinds! Peaches, nectarines, cherries, plums, mangoes, and more – check out a cookbook the includes a recipe for stone fruits! Read your recipe, make your dish, and bring it to the library on Tuesday, August 20th at 6:30pm. We’ll share our dishes and discuss each of our recipes.

Join us in the adult meeting room for a presentation from the NJ Division of Aging Services: NJSave. NJSave is a single application for adults 65 and older and adults with disabilities covering several different assistance programs to lower out-of-pocket costs on Medicare premiums, prescription drugs, utilities, hearing devices, and other living expenses. This program is open to all adults. Advance registration is required.

Celebrate Summer with cupcakes! Learn decorating basics and create cupcake designs like a pro. All supplies are provided. Allison will show you how to decorate your cupcakes. FBI Presentation: Identifying and Preventing Elder Fraud

Join Special Agents Christopher Romanoski and Nick Henry from the FBI, as they help you to identify and prevent financial elder abuse. Elder fraud is defined as a financial fraud scheme which targets seniors (60 years and older). Beginning in 2018, the FBI at a national level has worked tirelessly to educate this population on how to take steps to protect themselves from being victimized. Please consider coming out to educate yourself and others on how to identify, prevent and report potential financial elder abuse. This program is open to all adults.
