Join the Pentwater Township Library Board of Trustees! |
The deadline is Wednesday, December 4, 2024. After the interview, we hope to have a candidate selected by our December 17, 2024 meeting. The position starts at the January 2025 meeting. |
Are you passionate about libraries and eager to make a difference in our community? The Pentwater Township Library Board of Trustees is seeking a dedicated individual to fill a Trustee position.
Trustees meet once a month, typically on the third Tuesday, to guide the library's policies advocate for its values, and oversee its financial health. As a trustee, you'll play a vital role in shaping the library's future while upholding principles such as intellectual freedom and access to information.
This rewarding position offers the opportunity to contribute to the library's growth and success while staying informed on library trends and legal developments. If you care deeply about strengthening our library as a cornerstone of the community, and live in Pentwater Township, we encourage you to apply!

Winter Reading Challenge for Adults
|
November 25th, 2024 - February 15th, 2025
|
Sign up at the Library to receive your winter reading log starting November 25th. Then simply keep track of the books you read. Once you have read 4 books you can return your log to the Library for an entry into the Grand Prize drawing. Earn up to 5 entries, 1 for each time you read 4 books before February 15th. Weekly drawings from all participants will take place on Mondays!

Holiday Needle Felting Event |
Thursday, December 5, 2024 1pm - 3pm | Come needle felt a cute cuddly snowman, then fill up the jar with candy for a fun Christmas gift. No experience is needed as we will teach you how!

Community Cranking Event |
Saturday, December 7, 2024 9:30/11am/12:30pm | Join us at the Library to crank out hats to donate!
|
No experience needed!!! In this hands-on workshop, you'll learn the basics of circular knitting and create a cozy hat to donate to True North Community Services. Our goal is to make 18 hats!!! TrueNorth Community Services will also be collecting personal hygiene items, so please bring some items along to donate!
All materials for hats will be provided just bring yourself and a passion for creativity. (Materials donated by Crank & Create) Please Note: You'll need to crank the maching for an extended period to complete a hat, but we'll be right there to guide and support you through the process. Adults or ages 10+ accompanied by an adult.

Holiday Event at the Library |
Saturday, December 14, 2024 10am - 1:30pm | Enjoy a day filled with all things Christmas. Start with making a luminary jar craft, then decorate some cookies to take home.
Holiday Craft 10:00 AM We will be making a luminary jar craft by tracing a holiday scene on the outside of the jar, painting sprinkles on the inside and decorating the lid with sparkly felt and snowflakes, and adding snow and candle to illuminate it.
Decorate Holiday Cookies 12:30 PM We will take plain sugar cookies, donated by the Friends of the Library, and decorate with colored frosting and then sprinkles or candy canes pieces. Take home and enjoy!
