The other half of the money spent went to labor hours and materials to restructure the library to include a “new adult” section, which was created in response to concerns by about 90 people who objected to the content of the LGBTQ+-themed books...

How to Determine the Best Fundraising Opportunities to Pursue | If you have been in the grantseeking space for a while, you’ve probably had stakeholders approach you with a grant application and say, “We need to apply for this…”
However, it’s important that you don’t apply to every opportunity simply because it might be a good fit. Submitting a proposal requires time and human capital, which means the return on investment for different funding opportunities is not always worth the costs.

"...The libraries of America are and must ever remain the homes of free, inquiring minds. To them, our citizens--of all ages and races, of all creeds and political persuasions--must ever be able to turn with clear confidence that there they can freely seek the whole truth, unwarped by fashion and uncompromised by expediency. For in such whole and healthy knowledge alone are to be found and understood those majestic truths of man's nature and destiny that prove, to each succeeding generation, the validity of freedom."
