Happy June!
Come to the libraries to read up on some hot button topics, online or in a magazine or newspaper! Remember you can read magazines and books online using the Libby app and if you haven't done it before you can drop in for help.
The libraries are quite comfortable, not some dark dingy dungeons. Occasionally they even host parties! Encourage your friends, family, and coworkers to join the fold of library enthusiasts. Stitch together a plan for an evening out at the library and a local eatery, and write it in your journal so you don't forget. Craft a habit of finding fun in the libraries by blocking off time for library events and programs!
Sincerely, Kevin Sheehan |

It's been a busy couple of months at the Libraries... The Friends were happy to support the popular Solar Eclipse Viewing Party, Jewelry Making, Apron Paint Night, and refreshments at the Eric Jay Dolan Author Night. The Great Jewelry Exchange was also a great success! The community was very generous with their donations of no-longer-needed costume jewelry, and patrons had a great time picking out new pieces to refresh their wardrobes!
Thanks to the generosity of the Everett Foundation of the Aged, the Friends have been able to procure new items purchased with the golden aged members of our community in mind. In addition to large print and audio books, be on the look out for large key/backlit computer keyboards, table top and stand magnifying lamps, a new record player with albums from the likes of Frank Sinatra, Mel Tormé, Andy Williams, and more! You'll also see table top tilting puzzle boards, Pilestone color blindness correcting glasses, memory games and puzzles, ergonomic handled paint brushes and crochet hooks, and more! |
